Easter Weekend!

Sunday, April 8, 2012

Well it was a really busy, but really wonderful Easter weekend for us! Friday afternoon we were graced by three Khayat women (Nina, aka: Mrs Kathy, cousin Kathy, and cousin Kay), and John has never been happier.  He loves having visitors because he gets to show off all of his toys and new tricks.  He especially loves having his Nina around.

Cousin Kathy visited and then headed off to see her mom and dad, but the rest of us headed to dinner at the Heart and Soul Diner in Brandon.  I'll have to say that it was really, really good! Any of you Brandonites need to try it asap!

When we got home, we had to strip John down to wash his clothes.  Messy doesn't adequately described what he looked like after having french toast with strawberries, bananas, and whip cream.  John was ok with being indecent as long as he could wear Nina's glasses.

SO so cute.

This child.

We continued to play at home until we all couldn't keep our eyes open any longer.

Silly Kay.

Poor daddy is worn out from his medicine rotation and may have fallen asleep long before the rest of us!

Saturday morning we woke up and had bunny rolls and bacon (i mean what is breakfast without it?), and got ready for the Flowood Easter Egg Hunt!

The good news is we ran into the Bevills and the Sims!

The bad news is we missed the Easter Egg Hunt! If anyone decides to go next year you need to get there thirty minutes before the hunt if you want to participate! We were about 10 minutes late and there were no eggs to hunt! There was plenty of other stuff to keep John boy busy though.

Who is this guy?

We met the Easter Bunny!

And "animals! Hooray!"

And got excited about the "dog!" bouncy house, but wasn't too excited to be inside of one!

Got a balloon!

And a lollipop!

And listened to the cutest kids singing karaoke.

Afterwards, we met more family (cousin Bill) for lunch at Mugshots.  Poor John could hardly see straight when we left lunch, but he was so well behaved despite that.  After a good solid snooze, we thought it would be a great afternoon to break out the old baby pool.  John seemed to agree.

Dad got creative!

Unfortunately, we had to get out of the pool to see off our three lovely visitors.  You can tell John wasn't thrilled about this.

Next thing we knew, the Easter Bunny came to visit to let us know that Jesus had risen! The Easter Bunny brought Matt and I some goodies too.  We were pretty excited to partake in coke products and sweets again!

John was excited about his easter basket from "bunny."

Cookies for breakfast!

That's how you devour an easter basket! The Easter Bunny brought Elmo pjs, a book, an etch-a-sketch, crayons, and lots of goodies all inside his new thirty-one thermal tote.  The Easter Bunny thought John could use it as a snack bag on the beach this summer!

Then it was off to early church because poor daddy had to work today! And oddly enough, someone wanted to look at our house today (let's hope they buy it!!) so John and I had to go the park and have a picnic after mass and a morning nap!

I was really excited to get a corndog because I've been wanting one for weeks.  Let me clarify...I WAS excited until my darling child took it from me!  He LOVED this corndog!

He took it with him everywhere!

Continuing to frolic with my corndog.

Luckily the Bevills came to visit us in the park.  Miss Wylie is starting to sit up on her own!!

When we got home, we decided to put on some seersucker and lay low.  It was quite a busy weekend!

I'm tired just from writing this blog...I can't believe we did all of this in one weekend!

I hope you all had an incredibly blessed Easter!
