Last weekend and early this week, John has been struggling with a cold. Not a horrible cold, but just one that's left him whiny and with a nasty cough. One of the things it has affected the most has been his ability to get peaceful sleep. Well a few days of poor sleep for a toddler leaves an ugly, ugly result.
Today I thought he was finally perking up a bit so we met a friend at John's favorite "waterfall" park to play. It turns out the perking up was just the left over sugar in his system from trick or treating yesterday. After about an hour playing, John's sweet friend tried to give him a hug and Armageddon pursued. He literally started to melt down and then it never stopped. I had to literally carry a kicking, screaming child to the car...listen to him scream the entire way home...and then lay a screaming baby down in his crib and listen some more until he finally fell asleep.
And that is why...
I'm eating his Halloween candy for lunch. My bed. Diet coke. Facebook. The View. and John's candy. That's what it's going to take to ease my nerves today.
Pray for me.
And keep it real y'all.
