We've been attempting to chill out some this week while we prepare for the chaos and excitement that comes with Thanksgiving next week!
Saturday we spent the day attempting fun, but with me somehow hurting myself (falling off my bike...burning my arm on the oven), and ending the day with dinner with friends at our house! Rough start, but a nice finish for sure.
Sunday we decided to go check out New Smyrna Beach for the first time and they were having a little art festival so that was a bonus. John has been in the Christmas spirit despite my efforts to keep Christmas an after Thanksgiving thing. This is what he sang to us as we drove the 20 or so miles to New Smyrna.
After we got home and had a long nap, it was time to head to church. Matt and I were chatting and John was playing with his animals. We both stopped talking when we realized what he was doing. He was giving all of his animals communion. Soooo sweet.
Body of Christ. Is that not the sweetest thing?
Monday was a low key day spent hanging at the park some and home some. Luckily when John decided that he had to wear his shirt like this for the rest of the day, we were at home.
Tuesday was pretty low key as well as we were waiting all morning for news of the newest addition to our family, Jeffery Lee Johnson III (Tripp)!
John sent this video as encouragment to my sister-in-law, Mary Alexis. Isn't he thoughtful?
And push she did! Here is the darling boy!!
My heart is melting for him. I am so ready to kiss those cheeks!
It's sort of hard to top that so we did a little vacuuming...
John just loves to ride. Lord help me.
Made this lovely necklace out of cheerios and then ate it.
Went to the library where we're performing our very favorite "throw the bean bag and catch" song. This is his favorite part of his favorite song..."put it on your head and walk around the room." ;)
Tuesday's theme was buttons and this is Pete the cat that John made after hearing the story! Pretty nice cat there Johnboy!
And then we finished our day playing in the bath and since Matt had to work late I snuck a little video of bath time since that's usually their time.
Love this imagination at work!
Today...the day I'm supposed to be writing about has been pretty low key as well.
We started our morning at the YMCA. John is starting to love to go and play, and today his pal Amelia was there to keep him company! Amelia's dad is a third year resident at Halifax.
This is what I found them doing when I came back to get John. They were clearly having themselves a big time.
Do it again! And they did. It was actually hard to get him to leave today.
The weather is just yuck here today so we decided to rent a movie. John's choice was...Santa Paws. He is seriously in the spirit and after watching (and crying throughout) Santa Paws I have caught the bug myself.
Chillin'. Eating pizza. Watching Santa Paws. That is the life!
At one point, all the little orphan girls in the movie sang this sweet song about believing in Christmas and it got John so fired up that he had to put on his Santa hat and dance around the house. It was adorable. Also- my child is destined to be sensitive like his mom and dad. After trying to explain that these little girls all lived together because they didn't have mommies and daddies to take care of them, he looked as horrified as he could be at that thought. Like I had said the worst thing he's ever heard (and it really may be one of life's cruelest realities). Why do all the kid's movies have such heavy undertones. It's an intense experience to have with a child that never misses a thing!
But I digress...
That is what John is doing on this Wednesday!
