Sam continues to bring so much joy into our hearts and lives. Our family is better with him around.
At 8 months Sam is:
* Approximately 21.5 lbs and no clue on length (we are continuing to watch his head growth and he had jumped up another 5 percentiles at his 8 month check but thank goodness his doctor felt like we were ok to continue to watch it for a bit. We will go in monthly until it plateaus or we break down at scan his sweet big head. Let's pray for a plateau.)
* Growing out of 9 month clothing and wearing 12 month clothing well
* Still on Zantac and I'm still dairy and soy free (still plugging along with this plan at the moment. Sam's reflux is still a little worse than I thought it would be at this point, but he doesn't seem to be in quite as much pain as he used to be. Now I just hear the wet burps and the choking and coughing. Praying this will pass soon for this little guy.)
* Starting to eat a little more on a schedule (Sam is eating three meals a day and nursing every three hours. He is eating most fruits and veggies and handled chicken, turkey, and eggs beautifully so far! So thankful that he is tolerating food a little better than he first did. One less thing to worry over.)
* Naps two or three times a day (We finally have Sam on a good schedule thanks to the sleep training. He naps early in the morning for an hour or so and then in the early afternoon for 1.5-2 hours and then in the late afternoon for a quick nap to make it to bedtime)
* Is all smiles and giggles (Sam is the smiliest kiddo around. He is just full of so much joy.)
* Sleeps in his own room!
* Starting to show a wild side that I believe will keep me on my toys in the very near future (crazy boy has decided that he wants everything in the world that he shouldn't have: shoes, mops, grass, trash, you name it, and he wants it all in his mouth. We have bought many new toys recently to try to get him interested in things that are good for him, but he seems to like to eat paper better.)
* Fine with the car
* Not loving being on his tummy despite being able to roll over. He still cries about it.
* Is reaching and grabbing for every thing (and looks like he'll be crawling in no time. He face plants regularly when he tries to go from sitting up to scooting.)
* Can sit up like a champ these days!
* Is working on his 8th tooth!!! (He is getting his teeth way faster than John did.)
* Can say mama and dada
* Still loves big brother and watches his every move
* Is the sweetest (He has the sweetest disposition of any little guy.)
* And (no offense Sam) is chubby as can be (he LOVES to eat and is getting fatter by the minute. I'm not sure what we're going to do with him!
Here is he is enjoying his favorite past time:
And some 8 month pics!
See all those teeth!
Also please note his tan lines. Poor guy is going to have to get out in the sun without his sun shirt at some point to even those things out. Too bad I'm a sunscreen-aholic.
This is his look most of the time. He is always smiling.
Also of note...I believe that is baby cellulite in his lower legs. Get it big boy.
Big brother helping me get some pictures. Somehow wrestling already brings Sam joy.
As well as knowing he is about to pull John's hair . :/
And just a couple recent videos:
Swinging at the park!
Dancing with his big cousins (and borrowing his big cousin's hat):
And learning to clap on command!
Happy 8 months Sam Louis!
