We are all continuing to adjust to life with him, but he makes it pretty easy on us. He is such a lovable little fella.
At one month Sam is :
* 9 lbs 2 oz and 22 1/2 inches
* Was diagnosed with silent reflux and started Zantac (thank you to the makers of Zantac). We are having to watch his weight closely since he didn't gain as much as they hoped he would, but we are all hopeful that once he feels better, he'll eat a little better. This has also landed me the lovely task of pumping after I feed him to make sure that my milk supply is more than adequate to put some more weight on him.
* Eats for an hour every 2-3 hours, but has gone 4 to 5 at night after starting the reflux meds (which was better than the eating every hour thing that occurred without the meds)
* Has started fighting sleep some :/
* Has sort of put himself on the eat/wake/sleep schedule that Baby Wise preaches and John refused all of my efforts to implement (go figure!)
* Has a well oiled digestive track (Is that a friendly way to say that? Don't want to offend.)
* Has started smiling some, but I can't decide if I think it's a real smile yet
* Sleeps in our room in the rock and play and is swaddled up tight at night
* Is ok with his swing, but not a bouncy seat
* Loves riding in the car and being in the baby bjorn
* Has a superman neck and can hold up his head like a son of a gun
* Still prefers to lay on his side and will roll that way if you lay him flat
* Doesn't seem to love his pacifier, but will take it every now and then
*Is the sweetest
Woohoo! One month folks!
